Hello everyone,
You are cordially invited to join us in the celebration of Fèt Gedè, the Haitian Day of the Dead, an annual tradition in which practitioners of Vodou come together to pay homage to our beloved ancestors. This sacred event will take place on November 11, 2023 at 5pm ET in Mattapan, MA.
Fèt Gedè is a vibrant and profound celebration that honors the spirits of the departed. It is a time when we reflect upon the lives of our loved ones who have journeyed beyond the earthly realm. Through sacred rituals, music, dance, and offerings, we seek to establish a spiritual connection with our ancestors, seeking their guidance, protection, and blessings.
This event holds deep cultural and historical significance as it traces its origins to African ancestral traditions, preserved across oceans and centuries in modern-day Haiti. Fèt Gedè allows us to embrace our heritage and strengthen our ties to the rich tapestry of our ancestry.
We invite you to join us in this immersive experience of Vodou, offering you an opportunity to witness the beauty and power of this ancient spiritual practice. Throughout the ceremony, you will have the chance to engage with experienced practitioners, learn about Vodou customs, and participate in the rhythmic and transformative rituals that form the heart of this celebration.
Please come dressed in respectful attire, since this is a formal event. We encourage you to bring an open heart and an eagerness to learn and experience the mystical realm of Vodou.
To ensure your attendance and assist us with the necessary preparations, please RSVP by October 30, by sending a private message to Manbo Ange, if yoy have any further questions regarding the event.
We look forward to welcoming you to Fèt Gedè, where together we will honor the Gede Lwa's, celebrate their lives, and embrace the wisdom they continue to impart upon us.
Warm regards,
Manbo Ange
